Marina Sirtis was born on March 29th in Hackney, London, England. Her parents, who had recently emigrated from Greece, settled in the northeast area of London.  By the age of three, Marina dreamed of becoming an actress.  She attended school at the Tottenham High School for Girls.  By age 11, Marina became a lifelong fan of the nearby Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.  After high school, Marina attended the three-year program at the Royal Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She then went on to work professionally in theatre.  Her stage work included appearing as Ophelia in “Hamlet” at the Connaught Theatre and touring as Magenta in the “Rocky Horror Show”.  Marina soon had guest roles on television shows, such as “Raffles”, “Minder” and the children’s t.v. series “Everybody Here”.  Her films included “The Wicked Lady” with Faye Dunaway and “Death Wish 3” with Charles Bronson.  In 1986, Marina travelled to Los Angeles to pursue work in the States.  Marina was not the first in her family to go to the States.  In the early 1980’s, her younger brother Steve Sirtis, attended Columbia University on a sports scholarship.  He was a top football (soccer) player for the Columbia Lions of the Ivy League for several years, before going on to play for Greece.

Shortly before Marina’s six-month period was over in the States, she was cast as Counsellor Deanna Troi in the new series “Star Trek: The Next Generation”.  Marina would say in interviews at the time that she had to pinch herself each day to remind her that everything happening was real.  Marina continued the role of Deanna Troi in Star Trek for seven seasons, appearances on other Star Trek series (“Voyager” and “Enterprise”) and four feature films.  Marina continues to do work in television, films, and on stage.  Her t.v. roles have included “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Without a Trace”, BBC’s “Screen One” and a recurring role on “NCIS”.  Her stage work has included “Loot” in Hartford, Neil Simon’s “Hotel Suite” in Philadelphia, and the Lythoe Family Productions of “Snow White” in California.  Marina’s film work has included “Crash”, “The Grudge 3”, “A Dark Reflection” and the upcoming “For the Love of George”.  Marina lives in Los Angeles, but travels regularly to England and Greece to visit family and friends. Marina has been married for over 20 years to singer/musician and extreme sports enthusiast Michael Lamper.  She keeps on the go with work, family (including her beloved pooches), and travelling to appear at cons where she is a fan favourite worldwide.   Marina also enjoys cooking and following sports, particularly the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (Spurs).  Be sure to follow Marina at her official Twitter account @Marina_Sirtis, her official website and on IMDB.
